My name is Barbara and I am a fully qualified Secondary School teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I have a study English YouTube channel with over 144,000 subscribers and 11 million views. I am passionate about English and my mission is to help all of my students achieve top GCSE Grades!

I have worked with a wide range of students in the UK and internationally and my approach is structured and results-driven. I tutor:

My name is Barbara and I have over 10 years’ experience teaching as a Secondary school teacher in London-based schools as well as tutoring as a private tutor. I am extremely passionate about teaching English in a way that's fun and inspirational.

Prior to being a tutor, I had a three year stint working as a journalist for the Financial Times where I travelled to over 50 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

I see my work as a vocation and a calling and I am continually inspired every year by my students – seeing them go from struggling with English to achieving top marks in their GCSE Exams.

How I Work

My private one-to-one tuition is extremely tailored to meet my students’ needs. Before my first lesson, I ask parents to share school reports and weak areas so I can prepare focused lessons.

Our first lesson always starts with the student’s β€œwhy” β€” this becomes our North Star and the key to sustained progress.
