Master “ANALYSIS” & be a top 10% GCSE English Student..

Hi there,

As we ease into Week 2 of School, I want to give you the top cheat code to making GCSE English your EASIEST subject this year. Master this skill and you will be among the top 10% of achievers getting Grade 7, 8 and 9 consistently.

What is this skill?

✨ANALYSIS✨

If there is 1 thing you should put ALL your energy and effort into nailing down in English, THIS is IT. Analysis. Not only in Language Paper 1 & 2 but also Literature Paper 1 & 2.

Why is analysis so important:

1️⃣ You’re cutting straight to the writer’s message

2️⃣ You’re showing alternative interpretations to the same quote

3️⃣ You are going beyond just regurgitating and restating the writer’s words (NOT ORIGINAL) to thinking of meaning behind the words

🚨If there’s one thing English teachers and examiners look when marking students’ work and separating the top 10% students from the majority – it’s this: a student’s ability to analyse.🚨

PS: I obsessively focus on in my GCSE English Masterclass EVERY SUNDAY (that’s why 96% of my students got Grades 6-9 in the summer 2026 exams) – sign up here: https://www.firstratetutors.com/masterclass

So this week, I’ve made a “how to analyse” series to show you how to NAIL this skill early on. Get this skill right and English will probably be your easiest subject.

So today, I want to start you off with my “ANALYSIS” cheat sheet! I’ve highlighted how to EASILY analyse in 3 steps: https://www.firstratetutors.com/offers/EG2mGXKU

Download it here: https://www.firstratetutors.com/offers/EG2mGXKU

Now this is the tip of the iceberg and on Wednesday this week, I’ll be giving you a specific example of how to apply this with a past paper question. Stay tuned!

Much love,

Barbara
