✨PS: I’m running MACBETH February Half Term Revision Class on Monday 17th February at 5pm - sign up here!👇

How do you go up by 3 Grades in Macbeth?

1️⃣ Master a Flexible Thesis Statement (AO1)

Learn 1–2 arguments that you can use in ANY essay.

🔑 Example:
Shakespeare presents Macbeth as a tragic hero, whose ambition leads him from noble beginnings to total destruction.

2️⃣ Memorise 5 Killer Quotes (AO1 + AO2)

Pick 5 short quotes that are VERSATILE. Learn them word-for-word, then practice analysing the language in detail:

3️⃣ Always add Context (AO3)

Use targeted context—not random facts. Tie it directly to your argument.

🔁 Examples:

· Witches → King James & witchcraft fears

· Divine Right → Macbeth’s regicide as ultimate sin

· Gender roles → Lady Macbeth defying expectations

⭐️ BONUS: Use the ‘Beginning, Turning Point, End’ Structure (AO1 + AO2)

Organise every essay around Macbeth’s journey through the play:

Beginning: Noble / hesitant
Middle: Corrupted / murdering
End: Isolated / doomed
